Ramhan Island is a natural island off the Abu Dhabi coast, north of the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Highway and close to Yas and Saadiyat islands. Eagle Hills, the developer chaired by Mohamed Alabbar, launched the project in 2023. The island covers about 400 hectares (4 million m²), of which about 2.2 million m² is developable.
The master plan includes about 1,800 standalone waterfront villas, around 900 marina residences, branded residences, a marina hotel with serviced residences, a wellness centre and a retail promenade of about 1.7 km. The layout is built around a series of lagoons, and many villas have private beach frontage and piers. Marriott has announced a Ritz-Carlton Reserve on the island with 50 villas, scheduled to open in 2029, which would be the first of the brand in the UAE.
When The National visited in 2024, the island was reached by boat from a jetty on the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Highway, and a road bridge to the mainland was under construction; MEED reported bridge works under way in September 2024. Construction contracts for several villa phases have been awarded, and the first handovers were expected in 2026.
