Coastal district in the far north-east of Abu Dhabi emirate, near the Dubai border, home to the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club and the AlJurf master plan by Imkan.

Ghantoot is a stretch of coast and low-lying land on the Abu Dhabi side of the border with Dubai, next to the E11. For decades it was known mainly for the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, founded in 1994 under the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and for a small number of beach hotels such as the Golden Tulip Al Jazira. Much of the area is still undeveloped, with native ghaf trees and a quiet coastline.
The largest residential project so far is AlJurf by Imkan, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Capital Group. The master plan covers about 370 hectares with 1.6 km of Gulf coastline and a man-made canal that adds several kilometres of waterfront. Its components include AlJurf Gardens (villas), Kayan, Naseem AlJurf (villas, townhouses, apartments and canal plots), a marina district, a heritage and town-centre area called Jiwar Alqasr, and SHA Emirates, a wellness resort and residences on a private island. AlJurf Gardens Phase 1 was 98 per cent complete in February 2024 and handovers have since taken place.
Other developers, including ORA with its Bayn project, have announced large master plans in Ghantoot. Imkan gives a drive of about 20 minutes to Abu Dhabi or Dubai for leisure destinations and about 45 minutes to Zayed International Airport; a 2026 Khaleej Times contributed article gives about 20 minutes to Dubai, 40 minutes to central Abu Dhabi and 25 minutes to Al Maktoum International Airport.
